The incident occurred in New Canaan shortly after 12 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9.
According to Lt. Marc DeFelice of the New Canaan Police, during the late evening hours of Monday, July 08, the New Canaan Police Department began assisting the Stamford Police Department in a missing persons investigation.
The missing person, a Stamford man, was last reported seen working at a house under renovation during the afternoon hours in New Canaan, DeFelice said.
During a search of the area, DeFelice said the man was found dead in a wooded area.
The Connecticut State Police are assisting the New Canaan Police Investigative Division in the ongoing investigation.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has also been notified.
Further details, including the identity of the man, will be released at a later time, police said.
"It is important to note that there is no danger to the general public," DeFelice said.
